Tribute to Nelson "Red" Saylor, Jr.Nelson Saylor

Nelson "Red" Saylor, Jr., 24, died on Wednesday, June 11, 2008 as a result of a work related accident. He was a member of New Centerville and Rural Volunteer Fire Company. He began his formal membership as a junior fireman at 16. He had been around the fire company for a lot longer than that. His father was a member of the company and his grandfather still is a member. His grandfather even served as fire chief. Red grew up around the fire company. He was very much a family man. Anytime he was at the fire station, with the exception of emergency calls, his wife and daughter were with him. He will be sadly missed by all of us.
